I recently discovered this quote from Tozer that I think is priceless. What do you think he is saying?

“It will cost something to walk slow in the parade of the ages, while excited men of time rush about confusing motion with progress. But it will pay in the long run and the true Christian is not much interested in anything short of that.”

the long run…. eternity with Christ….if that is all we could think about what peace we would have. but we are here in the earthly body, troubled with earthly concerns we cannot simply walk away from. Obviously God put us here for a reason. What is the cost of walking slow in the parade of ages? it could be loss of love, money , prestige, material things, a host of human satisfaction, and we are given this choice; a trap almost. To be distracted from the Heaven that awaits us. If we come close to our Creator we will gain the wisdom to understand why our real treasure is in Heaven; a lesson we can only learn by accessing the true value of earthly accomplishments. What they teach us, if we are in Christ , is that at the end of the race, having fought the good fight, the long run is the highest prize and the greatest gain.
Well said Sally!
