City of Houston demands pastors turn over sermons | Fox News

Jean-Léon_Gérôme_-_The_Christian_Martyrs'_Last_Prayer_-_Walters_37113Can this really be true? It all makes sense if you consider the path our nation is walking down. We have allowed freedom to be defined as “everything acceptable.” Everything except moral restraint and Christianity.

It is not surprising to see that this attempt at infringement on free speech is being made under the guise of a non-discrimination ordinance, particularly in the area of defending homosexuality. Homosexuality is the juggernaut of American liberalism.

The tide continues to turn against genuine Christianity. Jesus described the times that are quickly approaching when He warned in Luke 21:

10 Then he said to them: “Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. 11 There will be great earthquakes, famines and pestilences in various places, and fearful events and great signs from heaven. 12 “But before all this, they will lay hands on you and persecute you. They will deliver you to synagogues and prisons, and you will be brought before kings and governors, and all on account of my name. 13 This will result in your being witnesses to them. 14 But make up your mind not to worry beforehand how you will defend yourselves. 15 For I will give you words and wisdom that none of your adversaries will be able to resist or contradict. 16 You will be betrayed even by parents, brothers, relatives and friends, and they will put some of you to death. 17 All men will hate you because of me. 18 But not a hair of your head will perish. 19 By standing firm you will gain life.

Not in America, right?

How can we not be on the precipice of the journey to the end. It will be very unlikely that any future presidential candidate, who purports to be for traditional marriage, will ever be elected. This issue is ground zero in the battle for our culture. And I’m finding that more people, who identify as conservative but not practicing Christians, seem to acquiesce on the issue of gay marriage and other sexual sin. Thier position, they tell me, is that with all the problems we have, there are much more important things to fight for. Oh, really? It’s like they are fighting to cut the taxes for a dying cancer patient while considering the disease as inconsequential.

The responsibility for our nation’s rapid demise and collapse over the precipice of moral debauchery falls on every so-called believer, whether they are a pastor or congregant. Christ commands the believer to preach the gospel. How rare it is to find any “Christian” with the Word of God on their lips and what they do convey is demonstrably false Scripturally.

Item: “Without holiness no man will see God” and again, “Be ye holy, for I am holy, says the LORD.” Holiness means separation. A called out separation from worldliness and separation unto service to the Living God. Not our will but His will be done. Today’s churches are filled with carnal compromise just as the average congregant’s home is filled with worldly idolatry in the form of television, movies, and Internet. No, Christian music is for the most part not only not Christian but emulates the world.

Item: Sacred doctrines that set apart the reformers (e.g. the sovereignty of God, election, predestination) are not only not taught but openly derided. The Law of God written on fleshly tables of new hearts (Jer.31:31-34; Ezek.36:24-28) whom God has ordained to eternal life has been replaced by lawlessness, self-will, idolatry, vanity, and greed. The fear of God, which is one of the attributes of a new covenant believer (Jer.32:38-40) is non-existent today.

Item: Where in the Bible does the Word of God say to “accept Christ as your personal Savior?” Answer: Nowhere! The Bible is plain that it is the faith of Christ placed in His called chosen elect children’s hearts from above (born again – look it up in the Greek) after the Spirit of God quickens those predestined for eternal life enables them to believe. It is not the corrupt temporal personal belief of the individual but a work of God in the heart of a darkened lost sinner that is the message of the gospel. Christ died for His bride, those whom the Father predestined before the foundation of the world whom the Spirit calls the dead condition of their sins and trespasses (“none seeks after God, no, not one”).

Item: The Puritans outlawed Christ Mass as a pagan ritualistic feast day that is contrary to Scripture. Christ Jesus was neither born on this day nor is their any Biblical call to celebrate His birthday, certainly not in the book of Acts, the many epistles, or the book of Revelation. There are seven (7) Feast Days of the LORD found in the Torah which the modern church totally ignores and dismisses. These Feast Days (found in Ex.23 & 34; Lev.23,; Num.28 & 29; Deut.16) are perpetual and eternal in nature, foretelling the message of the gospel, the coming of Messiah, and how the believer is to live both now and in eternity. The Last Supper was actually the last Passover. Christ is that Lamb of God. He is the Feast of Unleavened Bread because He is the sinless Son of God, the Bread of Life. He is the Feast of First Fruits risen from the grave. He embodies the Feast of Shavuot (Pentecost) because He is the Word (the Torah) made flesh. But the modern church teaches nothing of what the gospels, book of Acts, and epistles embrace: the Feast Days of the Lord were celebrated as was the Saturday (7th day) Sabbath. Look up the first day of the week and in the Greek you’ll find “mia Sabbaton” which is the Sabbath. Early believers never switched to Sunday.

Item: The modern apostate church embraces the use of the term “Easter” which is a pagan fertility goddess. Just Google it. The term wasn’t even used in English until the 8th century and was placed in the KJV clearly in error since the Greek translation is pesach (passover).

North America (and in particular the American colonies) were colonized by genuine Christ-believing Christians who fled the persecution of Europe to practice their Biblical faith given by God from above. As decades passed and non-Christian and Roman Catholics migrated to the New World, the early faith of the Americas was watered down through secular laws. The original public school system and higher universities were all established and built to glorify and honor God through the proclamation of the saving grace of Christ in educating citizens.

American is not a Christian nation. It is a polluted, filthy, heathen nation which, like every other nation will judged for her innumerable egregious sins. Abortion, sodomy, fornication, adultery, pornography, greed, lasciviousness, vanity, hedonism, violence, hatred, racism, and every manner of evil imagination within the heart of men has come to the forefront. The “church” is a sham institution used to generate revenue to keep buildings and the ministers who run them in business. It is in fact Babylon, a whore of compromise who does not know the God of Scripture nor does the God of Scripture know it.

The word “church” means “called out ones.” “And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues. For her sins have reached unto heaven, and God hath remembered her iniquities.” Revelation 18:4-5

Where’s the proof? Christ commands His disciples to take up a daily cross, to deny self, and to continue in His Word. He said if you don’t do these things you cannot be His disciples. Going to a building for an hour on Sunday, taking a Bible study course and learning the traditions of men, and then doing as you please in the world is not what Christ called us to. “Confirming the souls of the disciples, and exhorting them to continue in the faith, and that we must through much tribulation enter into the kingdom of God” Acts 14:22 Where is your persecution? Where are your tribulations for the sake of Christ and His gospel? He said we would be hated for His Name’s sake. Telling people that “God loves you and has a wonderful plan for your life if you’ll just repeat this prayer” is open heresy and blasphemy in any age except the modern one. Oh how superficial and narcissistic the false church has become!

“Awake to righteousness, and sin not; for some have not the knowledge of God: I speak this to your shame.” 1 Corinthians 15:34

Ken, I am not sure I know who you are. We have some mutual friends I see and your name is familiar but your picture is not. That said, I am not sure what has triggered your comments. I do want to respond to them as best I can…

Much of what you said I can agree with, although you seem to be very angry and critical which may not serve the purpose you think it does. There are some things you said that I can’t agree with and since I approved your comment on this blog it is important that I am clear about those points of departure.

      You wrote,

“Sacred doctrines that set apart the reformers (e.g. the sovereignty of God, election, predestination) are not only not taught but openly derided. Obviously, you are Calvinist in your belief which I completely reject. No need to note all the reasons why . . .

You said, “There are seven (7) Feast Days of the LORD found in the Torah which the modern church totally ignores and dismisses. These Feast Days (found in Ex.23 & 34; Lev.23,; Num.28 & 29; Deut.16) are perpetual and eternal in nature . . .”

While I recognize that much can be learned from the feasts you seem to suggest that the church should still be observing these feasts. Interesting that the Apostles in Acts 15 did not think to require that of Gentile believers. I am opposed to a Judaizing criticism of the church when it comes to observing Old Testament Jewish ceremonies, etc.

You wrote, “The ‘church’ is a sham institution used to generate revenue to keep buildings and the ministers who run them in business. It is in fact Babylon, a whore of compromise who does not know the God of Scripture nor does the God of Scripture know it.”

I have to assume that you do not attend church. Of course there may be churches that fit your description but Christians are commanded to gather together. The answer is not to bash the church but to demonstrate what the church is supposed to be.

You wrote… “Where’s the proof? Christ commands His disciples to take up a daily cross, to deny self, and to continue in His Word. I can only assume from this statement that if I followed you around I would observe that you are a deeply hated, deeply persecuted Christian because of your faith. Again, not sure what you have observed, experienced, or what is making you so angry and critical. Your comments were attached to the Houston article but do not seem to apply to it.

      Thanks for commenting though.
